Quick to dry clothes...is that a heads up they are still working on the water ingress manual for the new defender?

@ Supacat Either that or they are expecting drivers to have to get out and push when something breaks or the onboard computers can't maintain traction
@Enid_Puceflange : Joking aside, if you are able to provide some feedback on how it really performs on some of the less stage managed sections of Eastnor, then it would be really interesting to hear |

+1 on the feedback - being one of the very first to play with this is something I'm very envious of and I'm sure it will be a great experience - it sounds like they are going to let you push it to it's limits

I know sales staff training teams will not be interested in the least, but maybe some of the negative feed back about its too big, too fat, the wrong shape, too expensive, wrong engines, has a DPF, has electronics and all the other crap that the dislikers have posted here should be brought to the attention of management........ I haven’t cancelled my order yet but if there isn’t a commitment to launch a PHEV in the next 4-5 months then I will be cancelling my order and confirming my order for a Kia e-Niro to replace my Countryman PHEV and holding on to my 23 year old TDi300 instead of replacing both the MIni and the old Defender with a New 90 PHEV in the autumn.. in these environmentally aware times the PHEV should have been the first model to have been available or at least not a weedy 2.0ltr polluting turbo diesel as the main stay launch engine. I fancied an iPace but Lordy it is sooooooo expensive as is the RRS PHEV that I was going to replace my last RRS with and bought the Countryman instead and haven’t regretted it for one minute. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

I bet it won't be as much fun as in the 1970's when you had to know how to drive off road, in those days it was known as the Motorway.

your be right there ^^^^^
i think part of it is now you dont need to know how to drive off road to get to places off road. the vehicle does it. reality is vehicle just needs more recovery when it does get stuck as driver prob wont know what to do. But then it may have gone further and never needed recovering! Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

Tim of Scotland - I totally agree. I was expecting to replace my ‘ageing’ and rust bubbling paintwork MY16 HSE Discovery for a PHEV Defender at least this spring (if I could afford it).... but it doesn’t seem to matter if I can or not..... as there won’t be any!....so I may be joining you with a Kia thingy or scraping down and treating rust - just like I did on a 3 year old 1970’s Escort!....
Your take on ‘pollution’ and shipping was really interesting and a bit of an eye opener - puts me off cruising.... |

Oh well
I have a trapped nerve in my spine and have had the last two days holed up at home! Management have cancelled my trip to Eastnor at my request as I know I won’t be able to drive to Eastnor & back on top of two days driving GUTTED is not close to how I feel My confidence has been writing cheques that my abilities can't cash for years. |

This looks to be Gaydon but was this the same course as you were meant to be going on?

Sorry you can't make it Enid. Was hoping we'd get a chance to meet. I'm there Friday/Sat.
All the best with your recovery Rob |
