Puma 2.2 2013 Immobiliser ECU burn
Would appreciate thoughts on causes

Events preceding
Wash engine with high pressure water gun.
Next day, trip from Centurion to Potch, ok
At Potch (5 hours after stop), no start
5A fuse melts when turning the key
(Immobilizer, fuse box under steering)
Get help from LR tech (gr8 guy)
Even blows a 30A fuse.
He decides to short circuit the fuse (I crynch)
Car starts, all good
Back home, I replace all fuses with spec
None burns, problem disappeared,
Except central locking on back doors dont work
And weak on the front doors
I have job pressures and decided to worry about that another weekend

Then
About 4 weeks later, I stop at my house
As I get out, I smell burning plastic
The neighbors are building and I wonder what they are doing
Pick up something in the house and get back the car
See smoke coming from the dash and hear that awful crackling burning sound
Rush, disconnect the battery

Some checking
No fuse were blown
No ECU error codes
Instrumentation seemed ok
No start. Just crank and then shut down

What happened?
Where to get a replacement board

Sorry to hear that. Maybe a short in the rear doors‘ wiring; the flexible part between door and B post?
They‘re directly connected to the ALM/AS10 with no fuses so could burn the ECU.

Are you sure that you need new alarm ECU? First try to remove the current one and look for burnt parts. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo Smile

Would be easier to look for unburned parts 🙂
