The wife has just got word that an uncle of hers and his wife, both elderly and who live in a different part of the country, have the virus and are being treated with medication usually used to help those with malaria. Both have not had good health for sometime now. Many I presume will be in the same situation. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Just had the sad news from my sister that despite requests for the general public to observe social distancing while queuing for takeaway meals, coffee and to use the establishment toilets, their staff suffered such horrendous abuse that at 9pm they closed their business doors and will not be re-opening until the virus is passed purely because they will not tolerate the abuse that their staff were getting yesterday. All the car parks on the east side of Loch Lomond were totally rammed with cars and motorhomes and a neighbour who is a policeman was severely abused by visitors from south England in a motorhome when he had to move them because there is no fly camping by law in the National Park at this time of year and through to October, like they thought it was their right to park up where they want. Yesterday everywhere in the National Park was busier that on a hot July Sunday - crazy and spreading the virus far and wide.
Folks this is how Italy and Spain have ended up in the situation that they are in - because of ME FIRST I’M IMMUNE I DONT HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS. Folks we have only a small population here so health facilities are thin on the ground, if you come here and fall ill WE won’t have any facilities very soon. WAKE UP and stay in your local area and use the facilities that you have near to home. There is a posting from a well known Ice Cream and Tea shop in Largs in Social Media today - the owning family have already lost family members in Italy to Covid19, their shop is to be closed too because they simply couldn’t control people queuing but worse there are reports of people walking on the sea front cuddling, holding hands and elderly people carrying grand children. We already have a faster accelerating death rate than both Spain and Italy had at this stage of the pandemic. If there was any justice then natural selection will cull them but unfortnately they will take collateral innocents with them also.........
This is partly due to the mixed messages from above and general lack of any clear 'leadership'....... |

I have to agree. Look at what happened in Oz - with Bondi Beach being rammed - despite warnings not to gather in groups of hundreds. If you ever needed a tsunami.... What's struck me in all of this is that the world is apparently even more so divided into givers and takers. A fellow was interviewed about the threat of the pandemic on his business (he runs a gun shop) and the 'war' was mentioned and how people reacted then. He, very wisely, stated that the difference then was that everyone looked out for one-another. Now it's 'I'm alright Jack' across the board and stuff everyone else. Of course, the takers are the first to come banging on the doors of the givers when it all goes south. I hope there's a military crackdown on tw@ttish behaviour (as in Lombardy), I really do. Meantime, I've already run out of wanting to give anything of myself to these idiots (and yes I know I'm supposed to 'care'). Edit: and look at what's happened in Wales - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-51994504 |

Unless these are military flights there are still people travelling by air as I get contrails over the house 4-5 times a day, through binoculars these don’t look like military planes - photo taken with an iPad

Had to nip to the shop today, noticed mainly older people queuing, keeping a good distance between themselves and the person in front. Young hipsterish guy comes and stands right behind me, talking loudly into his mobile phone (on speakerphone, not held up to his ear) on about soap operas and their plans to go climb Snowden.

It's surprised me this week to see the commercial training flights doing circuits around Robin Hood Airport have been on nearly every day. It's usually been Ryan Air.
