It’s certainly R/C, but the question still stands....
Maybe an R/C New Def might have a go at something so dramatic. A real one might be seen in a car wash . Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

Maybe, but with all the ecu's on board I don't think it would run for long.

Apparently all the electrics have been IP66 rated My confidence has been writing cheques that my abilities can't cash for years.

Yep, and the bonus bit is that you'll get out on the other side and you'll be dry and comfortable --

Mmmm. I suppose I badly phrased the question. It’s less about whether the vehicle is capable or not, more about whether the target market/eventual buyer would ever actually bother. Monsieur Le Grenadier

You're probably correct the target market / first buyer probably won't unless they've a very interesting school run - however when its 4 years old and has haemorrhaged 70% of its initial cost then just maybe......

Sorry Enid but it wont last long wading through water if it's IP66, it needs to be IP67 for immersion in water. As Grenadier says I don't think many of the target market will venture any further than Tesco's car wash. Defender 90XS SW

Grenadier you need to buy the Lego model of the new one to keep your mind busy. You could drive it round your garden trying to break it.
Maybe do a poll of current defender usage. Who has towed 3.5tonne Who has waded and then had to take the carpets out because they got wet Who has waded to see white smoke because the air intake isn’t sealed Who has driven off road all day? Who has taken a jet wash to the inside of their Landrover |

I think there’s a whole list of things that the few do.
Never lock the fuel cap because it won’t open in the winter. Choose to drive it rather than any other vehicle they own Show off standing on the wing to notice a few days later it’s dropped Put cups of tea on the wing now there’s a cup shaped mark there Been trapped by the back door on a hill Had the back door damage the back of the because you thought it was cool to fit bigger tyres Got marks on the chassis where said wheels have rubbed But if you wear one of those hats that an elephants poo out, you should own a land cruiser. |
