I have always updated shafts and cvs for off roading with 35s. Open diffs included. A 35 finding grip is a big turning moment.
Guess it depends if you want reliability when off tarmac. Vehicle is lifted to avoid fouling on bump lock I take it? Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

Yeah do need it relaible on tarmac as I would be doing some long journeys fairly often. That much of an issue on Tarmac?

Run 35 creep crawlers on my off-roader which also has standard shafts and cvs. Only time I’ve broken one is when “playing” on rocks and using left foot braking.
It is an auto which helps a lot with the forces. For road use you will be fine, it is the snatch loading that will cause things to break. Hold my beer and watch this! |

35s on the torque multiplier of a tdci gbox 1st gear is not something i would be doing if i wanted reliability. thats before engine upgrades and adding ATBs etc. on or off road. i assume more off road from tyre patterns suggested. Cheers

Been running 35s (bfg ko2)for nearly 3 years now on 2015 puma. Mix on and off road, no issues to date with standard diffs and +2inch suspension
