Mine did the same thing a couple of months ago, both fuses =okay relay swapped out = still not working. turned out to be the motor was dead. Indy changed motor and while at it changed the rack as showing signs of wear. Don't make old people mad.

Well 🥁

Seized wheel box!! Absolutely seized solid.

The fact that the left hand wheel box was seized means getting the whole thing out becomes a real dismantling job on the dashboard. Basically I had to remove the whole top, middle, centre panel and instrument binnacle.

Now to test if the seized gear has blown the motor. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

then you get new wheel box in place, pack the black boot with SILICONE Multi Purpose Grease to give the wheel box longer life and keep water out

I am just in the process of doing mine. The dashboard is quite unnerving to pull apart.

I am told that Landrover allow 16hours to carry out the job. So I keep reminding myself how much I am saving.

Mine was done in 5 hours by the Indy I use, I can just imagine a stealers doing the job in less than 16 hours, parking the vehicle up then charging 16 hours labour. Don't make old people mad.

In my LDH 110 I was able to change both wheel boxes with only removing the top dash pad. Took about and hour and half. Its fiddley but doable. Done it few times on different Defenders. Not sure how different a RHD would be? I see you can easily access the left side wheel box. 👍🏻 2010 Range Rover MkIII Autobiography Super Charged (Idris)

My local dealer charges 135ish per hour plus VAT . 16 hours labour, may as well wait 5 years and buy a second hand New Defender .

Did mine a couple of years back, still have the left over screws ready for next time Laughing

Finished the job last night. Took me about 5 hours all in. I could have got away with just changing the left wheel box, but decided to swap it all (except motor) as the right wheel box was stiff. Also put a new rack cable in as that was worn where it had been running on the gears.

I reckon the dash has been apart before, as I found a few holes and clips with missing screws and has to raid my supply of spares to finish the job.

Also had to hunt out the radio code! 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV
