Quick fix, assuming it's not stuck too, is swap the barrel with the one in the passenger door.
I beleive if you have the small aluminium disc witht the lock number you can get barrels ordered to suit the existing key but would imagine these are not cheap. When I had this issue with my 110 DCPU I bought a genuine parts set which included the ignition lock & 3 barrels (both front plus rear doors) & a pair of keys so that they were all the same. Can't remember the exact price but recall it being about £80? (You'll also need the anti tamper bolts for fitting the ignition lock plus some time/patience to get the old ones out...) I'm sure if you do a search on here you'll be able to get the part number. |

Passenger door lock on mine was seized when I bought the car...so I took the cheap option and bought a barrel and was going to live with an extra key....
In the style of a 70's Ford, my worn key works the new lock barrel without any problems.....tells you just how good the locks and key mechanisms are.....but works ok. Might be worth a risk to get a new one and try it.... |
