Scotland 2012 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 SW Orkney Grey
2.2 Turbo actuator and MAF connector repairs
Just noticed the insulation is starting to split on a couple of wires on both the turbo actuator and MAF connectors.

I can get a repair pigtail for the MAF from the defender2 shop. Thumbs Up

For the turbo I can only find ones advertised for the 2.4. Is it suitable for the 2.2? Are the wires the same colour? I was struggling to compare the pictures on the web with my own motor.

The turbo actuator connector is the same on the 2.4 and 2.2

Wiring colours changed for the 2.2 but the connector is the same Thumbs Up  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Hmm forgot about the ferrite.

I could always supply the correct coloured wires with terminals on and swap them over into the LR kit.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

shame we haven't got impedance information for the ferrite used i.e. 33Ω at 25MHz

I have ordered the parts from Martin and once received will be taking to local autoelectrician for repair.

I note on the technical bulletin https://public.bellautoservices.co.uk/down...020663.pdf for replacing damaged turbo actuator connector/wiring it requires fault clearing. I have also read somewhere this is needed to calibrate the actuator position?

I have no DTC showing and have no engine issues, only doing this a preventative measure, is it reasonable to assume I can get away without doing this? I doubt my autoelectrician will have the set up for this action.

So got the new pigtails fitted today. Once I get chance in day light I will post a photo of the tidy job they did. At a quick glance with a torch I couldn't see anything of the repairs.

Here are pictures of the old connections. Nearly all the wires were damaged.

I can only think it is a combination of heat, vibration and maybe not enough flex in the cables.

The engine has had no major surgery to require them being removed or disturbed.
