Have just ordered a car part from this website https://www.megharystore.com/
In hindsight, it does look a bit ropey, but at the time I was in a rush and just assumed it was a legit Swiss retailer... I know Almost immediately after ordering, my bank contacted to say they had blocked a dodgy looking payment, which was in addition to the purchase I had just authorised, but from the same company. So two transaction from a company name different to the website that the bank says is based in China. Not looking good. I asked the bank to freeze my card immediately. The dodgy extra payment is fine as it was stopped, but I fear my £50 quid purchase may never appear and I think it is below the threshold for CC protection. On closer inspection, the website appears to just be full of products scraped from other sellers on Ebay. There's no contact address or phone number either, but Google doesn't throw up any alarming stories. Is there anyone who knows a bit more about the workings of the 'net who could take look and see what they think the odds of me seeing my item are? 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |

Sites existed for less than 2 months, so doesn't look great. Only registered for a year. Certificate similar. No ownership information.
Doesn't look great, but nothing definite. |

I'd go back to the bank again. Just had a similar situation with a website and an order just under £30 which never arrived and all communication with the vendor was ignored.
Spoke to bank who issued the credit card and they have raised a dispute on the charge. In the meantime they have refunded me the cost in full. Apparently, it's unlikely the scammers will challenge the dispute but if they do then the bank has reserved the right to come back to me. |
