Is it just loosing power momentarily, or cutting out?
Couple suggestions in here: https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69868.html |

Thanks for your reply.
It's losing power momentarily most of times, sometimes, only very rarely cuts out completely after a series of momentarily power losses. Once or twice i had the problem of not starting after a rare shut down, but mostly it just starts again. I have been reading the suggested previous posts and i don't think fuel type is the problem with me, i'm still using the same fuel brand as i was before the problem occurred. Although that means nothing maybe. So what could be the problem is the VCV maybe? The 2.4 ltr engines is 11 years and over 200000km old now, could that course the problem? Regards, Ruud |

It could be the crank sensor switch, if these have one. My dads jeep used to do cut out while on mid run and it would take a bit to start up again. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
