Changing the starter on mine made a huge difference to how quickly it turns over, before it always sounded like a had a flat battery even when both batteries were fully charged. Now it turns over beautifully.
Although that wasn't my starting issue, that was fixed by wiggling the under seat relays. Changing the starter is perfectly doable on the drive. It's one of those job where you'll spend an hour wiggling various spanners, sockets and extensions around not being able to quite reach the bolts then it will suddenly all click in to place and you'll wonder what the fuss was about. Putting it back on again is the same, spend an hour getting mad at it, skinning your knuckles on everything going then plop and it's in as if by magic. |
