Taken from Twitter, but it did get me thinking what mine are.
"Most folks don’t know if Car A accelerates 0.1s faster than Car B, and buyers do NOT base decisions on that. Factors that matter, in order: Brand Price Range Design Interior Reliability Infrastructure Cost of ownership Safety Acceleration" https://twitter.com/ValueAnalyst1/status/1190162584810524673?s=17 Not sure I ever considered range an issue, isn't that only a thing with electric cars? Engineering would be in my top 3; as would ability. |

Shuffled around for how I would normally look at/evaluate a vehicle
Design - looks nice? Continue to next stage (stop here if it's hideous) Acceleration - is it (or can it be made) quick? (better be very cheap if not!) Price - do I want it badly enough to justify the cost? Brand - sorry but if its French or a vauxhall then I'm out Range - as long as it'll do 300 miles between fill ups then I'm happy Reliability - won't be in my ownership for long if it isn't Interior - doesn't matter as long as it isn't white/cream leather Infrastructure - of what? Dealerships? Cost of ownership - 95% of my milage is for pleasure and I do my own maintenance so not really applicable as almost definitely cheaper than normal. I currently (or at least will very soon) have a need for a small, cheap roundabout to get to/from work. So my main priority would be purchase cost and fuel economy. Obviously I'm not looking at anything new. 2011 110 USW

Range can apply to ICE cars too, afterall you don’t want to be stopping every 200 miles (or less in some cars) to fill up up a 90ltr tank. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |
