Will a Td5 Transfer Case bolt straight into a 300Tdi?

Guys...

I'm looking to buy a TC out of a Td5 Defender but I'm a little bit unsure if it will simply bolt straight in without any mods. I know the Td5's have a electronic speedo whereas the 300Tdi's don't - will this be an issue?

By transfer case you mean the LT230? I'm pretty sure they'll simply bolt over.

If you already have the 300Tdi transfer case then the speedo sender can be swapped over. There's normally just a couple of small bolts holding the cable into the transfer case just in front of the handbrake drum. Unbolt those and remove the retaining plate and the cable pulls straight out.

One option is to also swap over the speedo on the dash to an electronic version as well. Ed

Td5's have a electronic speedo whereas the 300Tdi's don't - will this be an issue? No as Speedometer Transducer can be removed

then removing the transfer cases just make a note of there bolts are from as not all same length

and go though in to the gear box and from gear in to transfer box not all blind hole

or swap over the speedo on the dash to an electronic version and add the wiring and plug

This sounds interesting... My speedo is terribly inaccurate so I like to know more about this mod ?? Cheers.....

My 300Tdi came out standard with the electronic speedo. Very nice.
