for those that know me I'd just like to confirm this isn't for my benefit
I'm thinking about my eldest. We intend to have her learning to drive at the earliest opportunity which means she'll need a license in readiness for her 17th Birthday. so question being do we apply for a provisional moped license which when she becomes 17th automatically extends to cars or is a moped license simply for mopeds? from what I've seen you can't apply for a car license till you're 17? many thanks and a happy new year to you all. |

Hi, you can apply for her license before she reaches 17 and use her passport photo if it's not too old. I think we applied about 6 weeks before but they do not send them out in the post until a couple of days before they turn 17

many thanks.
so it's not the same license as that of a moped. only a few days before seems like cutting a bit fine. thank you all the same. and the provisional license - how long does it last? |

Certainly when I first got my moped licence at 16 I recall it sitting on the mantelpiece for quite a few weeks before its being 'active'.........mind that was in prehistoric times,....... |

You want pre- historic, my first provisional licence at 16 let me ride 250cc motorcycles, which I did, as fast as possible Just because you're offended doesn't mean you're right.
