Thames Hospice Cycling Challenge - Last weekend - Alps
Helped as a volunteer for this charity challenge over the weekend. It was in support of the Thames Hospice a friend of whom is a Trustee in memory of his old man who passed away 40 years ago. Great weekend, lost of support (£75k raised at last count) and well organised. It was a ‘Mountain’ challenge with three distinct groups trying to cycle the elevation of Everest, Kilimanjaro or the Matterhorn over 3.5 days. All succeeded in their targets, great effort all round.

I was meant to be one of the road captains, but torn calf meant I was vehicle support instead. Great weather, amazing roads, fantastic atmosphere. You’ll notice that the event was fully supported by Mavic and Chain Reaction, plus a handful of pro riders including Molly Weaver (Trek, Sunweb, Eurosport commentator) and Clement Chevrier (AG2R - 2 x Giros, 3 x Vuelta) who you’ll see about a third of the way through.

If anyone wants to consider it next year, either as a participant (you have to raise 2k, fully inclusive costs - flight, transfers, lodgings, food - just £400) or as a volunteer driver, let me know..... Thumbs Up
