Britpart extended wheel arches
Hi

I'm running with 30mm spacers and 265 tyres. As a result I get a lot of muck spraying up the side of my car. Can't fit the Dirt D-fender that MUD supply as I have tree sliders fitted.

I've seen these beasties from Britpart...
https://www.britpart.com/parts/exterior-pr...its/da1978

Anyone have any experience of them? I'm tempted as they look OEM, should have the same OEM flexibility and, at 30mm wider than OEM, should put me back to where I was (muck wise Smile ) before adding the spacers.

There seem to be loads of different prices out there as well so I'm a bit uncertain as to what would actually be supplied. For example, Britpart supply as front/rear pairs at (about) £92 but I found these as well
https://www.lrparts.net/lrc1418-set-of-fou...-pair.html

That seems sensible as a full set but why is cutting needed? I assumed you'd just unclip the originals and clip in the replacements?

Confused, as seems to be the norm these days Confused

The reason you need to cut is in the installation instructions
https://www.lrparts.net/mwdownloads/download/link/id/3/

That's a bit Censored . Would it have hurt them so much just to make a complete arch.... Censored !

I fitted some to the v8, yes you have to cut the fronts, so try buy some crappers off ebay and keep the originals.
I quickly hated the look and reverted back to standard.

Have you considered the Gwyn Lewis mud flap extenders? They push the flaps further outboard to solve exactly this problem. Darren

I was really unsure, Mrs G said she preferred original, so I switched back.

I agree, looks better with the standard ones!

I have the gwyn lewis mud flap extenders mentioned. They are brilliant, no muck on the sides with sticky outey tyres.

Thanks for the replies. I'll have a bash at the mud flap extenders and see how it goes. Not sure about the Britpart arches from the pics.
