Saving injured squirrels and the foibles of TR/TR2
The latest from Simon @ PowerfulUK - explains some of the strange things that occur with the Defender’s TR that don’t happen with other models with the similar system. How to select Auto TR2 (it isn’t as easy on RRS or D5) and how to solve the default to “Comfort” mode when off-road and you switch off the engine to save an injured squirrel
Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

That seems horribly complex, and near impossible to manage on the move unless you have a teenager in the passenger seat.

I would hate to be that guy who goes on and on about the older models.. but a single physical dial, and two buttons in the D4 work really well without taking your eyes off the road, or needing a tuition video.

You can always ignore the TR, just select low range and drive it that way, I have
in my old RRS (MY10) on many occasion..as no doubt you can in your D4 yet another pommie bar steward down under

I’m the same, rarely used TR programs other than GGS when we had had a dump of snow in my last RRS too but that one had the easy to use rotary selector. This one it seems like LR are trying to steer you away from using it and going back to low box and HDC/ E-diff just because it is so time consuming getting into the TR2 choices and also they disappear so quickly from the bottom of the screen. I’m sure it’s only like it is because of the need to have the controls in a position where there isn’t a major cabin redesign to have the walk through or jump seat options. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

It also seems there's some poor logic there, with some options showing icons and some not, some options lost on a switch off and some not. It does have the feel of not being a polished solution but more a version 1.0 that can be improved through SOTA iteration and beta testers.
