I have my webasto fitted under the 60 portion of the 60/40 split. I run some ducting up behind the seat and up the side of the dog guard. It then points slightly forwards. Heats the cabin up in a matter of minutes 110 D250 SE HT

I am doing mine at the mo, and I have put the heater under the rear (2nd row) seat towards the door. Warm air will exit under the middle seat (mine are 3 separate seats). 1999 Defender TD5 110

Thought about fitting one to mine. I would try under the 40% seat so you can fold down the 60% when you need more space.

Thanks All. Really helpful. Looking at the 2nd row placement again, positioning there will infringe very little as it can be placed very close to the pivot point for the seats. All it needs is a protective cover/box for when loads are being pushed in from the back door along the floor perhaps.
Looking forward to being warm this winter! |

I’d fit it under the cubby box. Simply make a lower cubby.

Having had one fitted under the 2nd row and under the cubby - I found the cubby was the better place to fit it.
Under the 2nd row was a pain when you wanted to stow things in the back with the seats folded and the air intake/hot air out let used to become blocked with coats and stuff if you were not careful.. Under the cubby was a simple fit with the ‘Nakatanenga’ under-cubby box and the hot air outlet in a good location to heat the cabin. Links to battery and fuel were simple as was the positioning of the fuel line, exhaust and external air intake. Yes it does make the cubby a little higher but it only took about a week to get used to the new position. However, with some tweaking you may even be able to make it fit inside the cubby box with a false floor. Click image to enlarge Fitting the heater under the cubby - work in progress ! Mines under the 60 of the rear seat. Seats folds forward no problem and it's no higher than the seat brackets. Cheers

I fitted mine (chinese copy) in the mud heater locker with the cubby on top.
As has been said, really easy to sort the intake / exhaust / fuel line etc: https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic66584.html |

On my old 110 it was under rear seats drivers side. Blew warm air around seat back making your lower back lovely and toasty. I never folded the seats

Cheers, has anyone ever found a pure electric heater??
For a different vehicle application and diesel fuel / water plumbing isn't feasible..... |

No experience of them myself but these aircon units with heaters are very well regarded.
