connector subwoofer
Hi all

Got hold of an original sub woofer for the Defender. As my 2007 has the right Alpine radio, but I have no cable/plug to connect to the sub woofer. Would any one know the part number of the cable/plug between radio and subwoofer by any chance. Or someone got the matching plug and the cabling chart?

Thx
browny

There's no separate loom available for the subwoofer end, only bits of adapter harnesses at the radio end.

I can supply a plug and pins for £7 plus £3 UK post (it's lumpy) - I've done a retrofit on my 2014 90 XS by building a custom retrofit loom.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Hi - I had the same problem. Called Alpine and explained the situation and they have a wiring kit for the standard SWE1200 which will work with the special version developed for the Puma. It is not cheap (about £30 from memory) and I believe that the part number is PA015000A034.

You will need to remove the amp from the unit and remove the lead to the power supply and replace with the Alpine wiring kit. This will give you all the connections for the head unit.
Used it on my retrofit and it works fine.
Hope this helps.

Just checked - the part number for the power cord is 01E44813S01. Price was £36 inc shipping etc. There is a guy on ebay selling one for slightly more.
Should have mentioned that the RCA connectors are fairly short and I purchased a 3m extension (male to male fittings) to link up to the head unit.
However, getting the plug and pins from Martin would be a much cheaper option!

In the OE install where do the RCA cables route?

Is there much difference between the LR one and the SWE1200? Been trying to find a used factory one for ages now. One on ebay at the minute but looks like its been kicked down the road! Andy

The LR one has the amp integrated and therefore is a bit deeper than SWE which comes with it separately. Also, the Alpine logo is upside down if fitting on the back of the cubby box.

I am sure that it would work just fine. It is just that the speaker aperture would be facing upwards. Otherwise no problem. Or just live with the logo upside down...
