It’s going on tour https://www.landrover.co.uk/vehicles/defen...-tour.html
However, if you live in that small county of Englandshire called Scotland you get a single chance and have to travel to the city centre of Glasgow to view it - how disappointing is that? How short sighted of JLR’s publicity machine to think that you might want to drive 5-6 hours from Wick or longer from the islands to go and see it - don’t they realise that on the map Scotland looks small but it is in reality vast and beautiful, what better countryside could there be to show off their new off-road vehicle? Disappointed? You bet. They have always previously done Scottish pre-launch viewings in the grounds of Gleneagles Hotel, which is about an hour’s drive from all of the biggest centres of population in Scotland, so it was a trip worth making, but I don’t see many wanting to travel into Buchanan Galleries especially to fight with a mob of people not in the least bit interested in actually buying one to look but probably not even get to touch it. Maybe it just sums up who the target market is - city dwellers. Why not tour it around the dealerships? Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come 2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

Don't worry Swine, it would seem that you and me in the sticks are not one of JLR's targeted customers

You ever get that feeling that land rover don't want the average joe to buy a defender?
the west country a massive rural land mass full of current defender owners, some who could be interested in buying the new defender. Now in a landscape of epic rugged north Cornish coastline to the high wilderness of Dartmoor where do they take the All adventure, Exploration built and country ready defender? Fecking Salcombe https://www.rightmove.co.uk/house-prices/Salcombe.html Ohh yeah that's why Obviously Rock didn't have a big enough car park. Right on Rashers.
No probably not. In my case there seems to be a lack of wheelchair access or ramps in the options list. 1983 Series 3 Pick up in Marine Blue 1967 Morris Traveller 1966 Morris Convertible 2012 VW T5 Camper Quod Abundat Non Obstat. |

Perish the thought they should venture into the middle of Dartmoor - waaaay too scary! I like the fact that Abersoch Sailing Club gets a look-in - fabulous setting but miles from any logical purchasers, ah, sorry.. it's there for the Chelsea set! Also (although no-one from LR is likely to pick up on this...) they can't even get the address for the NEC venue correct - it's Marston Green, NOT Martson! Proof reading and sat-nav's - why bother? |

Stop complaining - think of the people in Northern Ireland - they have to go to Glasgow too.

Better than most times - North normally involves a trip to Manchester. West is Reading!

I think, if there was any remaining doubts about who the target customer was supposed to be, this has put them firmly to sleep. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS
