Do it annually no matter how little you do.
Even modern oils pick up condensation, deteriorate etc, especially when not used. Euroboxes have a long service interval when new, not because everything has got so much better, but to make the cars attractive to PCP buyers. Often these buyers wont ever have to do a first service before they've swapped the car. So its the next buyer, or the one after that that gets hit with the consequences of long service intervals. I change all of the oils, diffs, gearbox, transfer box, engine every year (about 6000 miles). Not especially cheap and probably complete overkill but its a keeper and defenders arent cheap to own, theyre just better than anything else (get a nice kia or something if you want cheap) |

12 months/ 10k miles is the factory. If you search on here you'll find the service schedule showing what's done on each service.
Personally, as I aim to keep mine I also do an intermediate oil and filters change every 6 months. |

I'd disagree, I run a euro box along side defender and do around 50k miles PA, generally switch at 3 years/150k miles. service as per manufactures guides and have had no issues relating to long service intervals, I think long life oil and condition based service is a real change. |

Engine oil / filter change every six months, then the rest of the oils & filters get replaced annually.
Engine oil is cheaper than a Engine overhaul... |

I worked in the US for a number of years, where my colleagues had their oil changed every 1000 miles. Apparently their ‘garage’ told them this was the correct interval...
