Defender 130 rear seats
Hi all just wondering if a set of 110 tdci xs csw 2nd row seats would fit in a 130 tdci double cab?

Thanks in advance 👍

Yes, but only with some modifications.

130 and 110 DC have slightly different rear seats to SW second row:-

- the brackets securing them to the floor are different. The DC brackets will fit the SW seats though, so a swap is possible.

- the DC as supplied has (totally pointless) brackets securing the top of the backrests to the rear bulkhead. The only good thing about these is that they stop the seats from rattling, but they also stops the eats from tipping to allow access to the useful storage area behind and below them. There is no detrimental effect to removing these brackets and many positive benefits to doing so, but you will find that the covers of the backrest have been cut to allow the brackets to be fitted. If fitting ex-SW seats I certainly would not fit the brackets. Unless removed, these brackets also prevent the fitment of most seat covers, by the way.

- the angle the backrest makes to the seat base is different on the DC to the SW seats, and I believe that this is achieved by fitting a bush (to the DC-type seat) around the locating pin in the backrest release mechanism. Somewhere on this forum there is a thread describing the removal of this bush, but I cannot immediately find it. This does however mean that the SW seats will not fit the DC unless the modification is applied to them first since the backrest will be prevented by the back of the cab from going back far enough to lock in place. As far as I know, it is quite possible to take the bushes off the seats you're taking out and fit them to the seats you're putting in.

So the seats will fit and are essentially the same, but it is not a totally straightforward swap.

Dennis, the thread I linked above is about a conversion done by a Dutch company called Landreiziger. They're located in Dordrecht. You will find detailed photos on their website: https://landreiziger.nl/2014/10/landreiziger-atelier-liu/ Defender 130 HCPU Td5 MY2000

Thanks, I've seen that. Not sure if 3 individual seats fit in the Landreiziger configuration?
Was curious about the folding 3 seat conversion that Projectblue is reffering to.

Couldn’t fit three seats in the back but wouldn’t work anyways because you need a seatbelt for the middle seat.

just buy the seatbox with the seats and you will be fine. It lined up with all my original bolt holes.

There is 2" less rear leg space. i did this in mine, but went with the older 60/40 bench. But they are more comfy than the older bench seat. As the newer tdci seats lock in place, as well as offer built in seatbelt buckles.

I did the four capt seats in another defender 130, and the owner loves it. Made a new seatbox for the two puma seats, and positioned them in a way to keep the rear passengers as happy as the front ones. Can't leave well enough alone
