Most of the staff at the plant are unlikely ever to be able to afford one given the lower wages that JLR are paying them.

They're not the target audience for anything being built there. Although it's always good to have pride and promote the thing that you're producing without feeling you're doing it out of loyalty as opposed to thinking it's a really nice car.. And the wages.. yes...hmmmm.

On the rear picture, the upper left corner doesn't look right - almost like there is a cover over the rear corner, or is it a snorkel at the front sticking out ? Just doesn't seem to look right.

There is a rather ugly looking snorkel on some of the other pictures that have come out (Tusk I think). ---

It's thought that is a ladder - they have it on the side rather than the rear on the Daeshfender.

There’s one photo where the RAI looks like it was made from guttering and downpipe offcuts from B&Q - a bit like the DIY RAIs you see on some D1’s ........... so anything else can only be an improvement! Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

Some of the images I managed to take off the video came out OK with some upscaling. The rear 3/4 view actually looks reasonable, though I've no idea who grafted a fridge onto the side of it.

Heard loads, had the chance to go out there when the L462 was moved. I was at the start of production in BS2 build and trained quite a lot of the GL's that had come over from Nitra... Putting Dreams on Drives at JLR Solihull..

Having seen the leaked article with pictures I think the “Wow, wow, wow” has to be replaced now by “Ouch, ouch, ouch”. Shocked
Can only hope that this still is part of a very smart JLR marketing effort to put the whole world absolutely wrong footed ahead of the official launch and that on Tuesday they will reveal something totally different in Frankfurt which will pleasantly excite the world.
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.
