The adjustment is on the hand brake drum and cable. Normally just start with adjusting the pads at the drum.This is done without removing the drum as there is an external adjuster. If still too slack then the cable can be adjusted.

Technically easy to do. Locate the adjustment bolt on the lower section of the handbrake drum, this is a forward facing Hex bolt... but be carful on first moving it... mine was very stiff at its first adjustment (25K mileage)… I like the hand brake to come on early on lift and 'secure' at 3-4 clicks, anyway, my adjustment mechanism wasn't happy on tightening up and then backing off until desired (correct) setting reached, so it was swapped out for a new unit...
