We offered the new windows to the apertures and they were to big I thought they were a direct replacement for the factory ones we removed them and made them fit by making the apertures bigger that was the first mistake we are now committed to fitting the windows.
The windows come pre-drilled so you can offer them up to the panel and mark it for drilling the rivet holes we did this then applied the sealant to the frame put it in the panel and inserted the rivets I held the frame and my mate started to pop the rivets only to find the holes are mostly out of line they must have been drilled free hand when we pop the rivets this made it so you could not insert the rubber which hides the rivets and make it water proof, I must say the holes looked ok till we started to pop the supplied rivets and at this point there was no way back. More to come later. Click image to enlarge |

I forgot to mention when I first rang Masai about the windows I asked about fitting they wanted £400 and could not guarantee they would not damage my side panels removing the factory fitted windows and if they did I would need to have the panoramic windows fitted they would cover the any damage.
I sent Masai the pictures of the rivets and was told if I drove to their workshop the would fit the rubber insert I asked how they would do this and was told they would drill out any out of line rivets and drill new holes I said you can forget that the boss also said I would get 10% of my next purchase I told him that would not happen. My mate said let the silicon go off and we will sort it tomorrow he drilled all the rivets out countersunked the holes and fitted countersunk rivets then the rubber insert was fitted, time to fit the inside panels I opened the back door and started laughing my mate said whats up so I showed him and he said OMG. Take a look at there logo and kite marks half way up the glass. Well, I’ve just booked my 110 for the side/rear panels so I hope they’re as good (VSG) as the recommendations on here suggest.
Has anyone had the panoramic or shooting roof fitted and, if so, what are your thoughts and observations? |

As Sulisuli suggested,VGS are excellent having had mine fitted today which is identical to his vehicle, albeit mine’s a 110. An added benefit, for those with dogs, is the three ‘lock’ positions on the sliders allowing different amounts of air plus they make the vehicle a tad quieter. Thanks, James and Dave. |
