During the day ( IF I am working in the office) I have Radio 2 burbling away in the background.
Can anyone tell me how much longer we have to put up with Sara Cox at 5 O'clock. I know there is an off switch but Jeez she takes the biscuit. I feel sorry for the rest of you having to commute home with her "doin yer hed in" Guy May your life be like toilet paper ; long & useful. |

Agreed. I tend to listen to Radio 2 if travelling any distance for their motorway traffic reports but on a recent trip down to South Wales and back I reverted to Radio 4 and Classic FM.
Radio 2 seems to have lost its way - I thought it would improve when Chris Evans left but it's got even worse. The amount of dialogue as a ratio to music seems to have increased exponentially. I want Radio 2 to be a music station and not spend half of the time listening to radio presenters prattling on about nothing. Defender 90XS SW Mini Countryman Cooper S Morgan Plus 8 |

Sarah cox always prattles on about nothing.
Zoe Ball in the morning isn't too bad, but I preferred her in the afternoon on a saturday...ahem.. I liked chris evans, but towards the end, especially when he started bringing his kids in, really turned a (bad) corner) I blame the politically correct in managment at R2 (or just the BBC).... "ooh we need more female presenters blah blah"... I'm sure there's plenty of them, why fix something that wasn't broken. It's deffo broken now though. Sarah Cox is the best thing on Radio 2. Use to like her on Radio 1 as well. In fact is her that is slowly tempting me away from R1. Shehad the same stupid childish humour as me. Think she's most amusing. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I think it’s a generation thing.
Everything Bluest likes about Sarah are the things I dislike. I remember working with an Electrician as an apprentice who listened to Radio 2. This was probably 1990? I can recall think “dear God, how can this old fart think this rubbish is entertaining. I’ll never listen to the crap”. I was listening to Radio 1. Jakki Brambles, Gary Davies, Simon Mayo (don’t know what happened to him when he left Radio 1 ) 10 years latter, I was listening to Radio 2. Radio 1 had left me behind. And now, I feel like most of you, Sarah Cox and to a lesser extent Zoe along with Radio 2 are going for that 30 year old bloke I was when I started listening. I think it’s evolution of the station. I feel it’s a pity the BBC don’t cater for the 45-60 age range with a music radio station, although I am sure there are plenty of you that age who still enjoy Radio 2. Ken Bruce to me is a saint and I miss Wogan’s breakfast. |

Really Bluest?
I honestly can't stand her incessant babble & nonsense! I think they dropped the ball big time when they let Simon & Jo go, OK Jo took a little while to settle into the role but the two of them worked well together. On the other hand, 'Coxxie' is & don't even get me started on those stupid jingles, as for whoever came up with the idea that giving someone a random phrase to try & get a friend or relative to say on the radio... They need taking outside & given a stern talking to |

Its an age thing for sure
I remember my dad tuned to Radio 2 with Terry Wogan years ago and it drove me mad! Something then happened a few years later and Radio 1 drove me to Radio 2! Maybe I need to move onto Radio 4 now....... 2010 XS USW 1957 Series One 88 diesel 1958 Series One 88 4x2 |

I like the Cox, and am very disappointed by Zoe doing breakfast not Cox. All she wants to do is chat to celebs that I’ve never heard of (and don’t want too) or chat to gay men. Utter .
I put radio on in the morning and leave it on all day, so now I don’t really bother with two at all. But tried again today, and the soppy slimey Jo bird was in instead of Bruce. I wasn’t sure to kick my radio, or cut my wrists. Utter poooo |

Force yourself to listen to Alan Carr and Mel Sykes for an hour and then tell me either the morning show or drive time are bad......

You guys need a bit of Radio 4 at 10am. Nothing like a bit of Woman’s Hour.
I listen fairly regularly and have learned loads |

Radio 2 has gone really downhill recently.
Last year there was a big fuss about white middle aged male presenters, so the desperately PC management changed it. We've now got 3 women in the 40 something age bracket presenting the peak time programmes. Zoe Ball, breakfast. Sara Cox drive time. Jo Whiley early evening. HOW ON EARTH HAS THAT IMPROVED DIVERSIFICATION? First Jo Whiley caused the drive time audience to crash. So now they've P'd off the majority of the rest of the listeners. |
