welcome to the Forum ! I have just come back from 3 weeks of mountain passes in Europe at 2500 meters and 30’c with a fully loaded 110 2.2 camper and had no real issues. It may be that there was a small stone or indentation were you had parked that provided a bit of a ramp for the wheel to climb, (plus the angle of the hill,) ?? If the engine and gearbox was working well before and after it may not be anything mechanical ... however its a defender so any kind of scenario may come into play. There may be more people come back with some technical ideas but if its a one off and has worked ok since then just observe and note any changes. You could try plugging in a fault reader to see what the ECU says about the event.... When you refer to 'as usual' were the other slopes you have used the anti-stall technique on, as steep as this slope on Yatsugatake? You say 30%? That's pretty steep for any hill. And if it is that steep, were you in low range? Lastly, even if the air-temp was warm, was the Engine warm or was it from a cold start, even if you'd let the engine run a bit first? Thank you for your kind advice! it is a paved road I think there was no stone or indentation.... After that everything went well. It is hard to think performance down happens at such low altitude. I think I am going to do some test this weekend to see if everything goes well. Hi Grenadier Thank you for you advice! hummm...maybe not so steep. around 15%~20% maybe? (far different from 30%....sorry) I have tried many slopes which are worse than that one in 1st gear high range and never failed. I think the engine was warm at that moment. I had been driving for over 1 hour before that. I did stop my car and turned off the engine for about 5min to have a rest but I don't think the engine can get chilled so soon. |
