Does anyone know if a simple plug and play EGR delete cable is available for the TDCi, I've being doing lots of searching but nothing yet.

I bought this one: https://tafmet.pl/english/egr-valve-simula...results=22 a couple of months ago. It's now installed for approx. 5000 km without any negative effects. I have not added the plate until now, only the electrical fake agr is mounted.
Note: I added two connectors to the air flow sensor cable so I can easily switch back in case of MOT fails. |

Are you talking about 2.2 or 2.4 engines ?

The only issue I see when EGR is blanked :
The exhaust gas is not going to enter the cylinder. It has to be replaced by fresh air. The ECU injects the same amount of diesel. The relation Lambda air:diesel will rise. The temperature in the cylinder rises. Damage may occur... |

A diesel engine is always running with excess air, so the missing exhaust gas is no problem.
The only point that is true, is the higher combustion temperature, but if you check when the EGR is opened (only on partial load, just some seconds on idle due to the soot), you'll notice, that the temperature will be not that problem. BTW: There are many Td5 engines in the wild, that have a blanked EGR and I have never heard about any problems due to this. |
