Probably fitted literally hundreds, if not thousands of each and every piece of glass on them back in the day.
We used to go to fleet places with vans full of screens and front vents. The drop glasses were literally mallet’d into the doors.... the none skilled rough fitters used to bend the doors. I remember every part number of each piece of glass, even now ![]() There’s a few restored Transits i see frequently. Kudos. |

Oldyellar that is one fine restoration project!! one of the lads on the 306 forum loved his transits, he had the later one to this, he practically welded all the front floor etc. he was about as mad as me, with builds. He is now restoring a merc camper bus thing.
How did you find getting hold of the parts? as I think these are just a mk3 face lift? Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |

Thanks for the kind words, I am a builder to trade I cant take credit for the paint I body shop has done it for me, I do get stuck in to every other aspect of the build though. I'll just be using it for show/ play it puts a smile on my face it reminds me of when I first started out in buisness when it was my only option to have one of these as the were plentiful and cheap and vosa used to hate me ![]() |

I think I changed the windscreen in my old work truck 3 times it was accident prone lol W37DHF was its registration. They are starting to come into their own on the classic scene and people are favouring the modern classic to the older stuff for driveability ect. |

Thanks Procta this is a mk5 it is a facelift of the mk4, the mk3 looks like the mk4/5 are facelifted from it but there are a lot of changes like the arches are different the suspension and rear axles, steering ect mk3 transit is a very unique model ![]() |

Hi Clayton thank you, the blue car is a Lancia, I'm not sure what model but I'd say mid 70s it looks a bit like the Morris marina with the sloped rear
