Mystery trip reset.
Hi helpful ones.......my 2010 2.4 tdci has recently has had the trip recorder reset itself and also the radio (Sony) put itself into a demo mode. This has happened twice once on the move and once after stopping and restarting the next day.
I also had a security related msg which I won’t go into here.
As it happened once on the move I assume there wasn’t some lowlife scrote hanging from the underside fiddling about.
My initial thoughts are that it may be battery connection issues, ie an earth or such which I will check out soon.
Apart from the obvious earth at the battery is there anywhere else I can look for other earthing positions?

My first port of call would be the battery terminals. The ones used on Pumas are particularly rubbish and have a habit of working loose. I packed mine out with shims made of copper to enable them to grip better. Darren

Rev the battery terminals: yesterday I checked mine and although they looked nice and clean and nicely fastened I found that I coils do still rotate the earth connection. This has now been tightened up although I did have to jam a flat bladed screwdriver against the head of the bolt head to stop it from turning when I tightened the nut. It’s much tighter now so I’ll se if I get the trip reset and radio demo again.
Thanks to all for your input.
