There were a spate of caged ex quarry white 110's sold through auctions a while ago in various states of disrepair, could be one of those?

Yes, Seems honest enough and I agree a very good price, someone should snap it up quickly.

£14k sounds strong to me for something that will have been worked hard. I personally wouldn’t take a gamble on it

The fact it’s only done 44k though, surely it can’t be that bad?! (Famous last words)

I think it all comes down to condition. What's it like underneath.

Depends how well it's been maintained - very likely that pretty much all those 44k miles will have been done off the public highway.
I bought a 5 year old unregistered 90 that had worked on roads construction sites back in the 90s, it didn't have a straight panel on it but as it was a service vehicle for the bigger plant it had been maintained well. Answer is to see what state it's in then decide if it's worth the £11.5k asking price. |

This will be an ex quarry/construction site pool vehicle and from what I've seen working in construction will not have been treated to an easy life > 110 XS Double Cab

By the state of the rear seat, it looks like it's been used for dogging.

I don’t know where you go dogging Greeni, but my dogging sites are much cleaner than that...
On a serious note, I suppose it boils down to what needs to be done and for how much. I have no idea what a 44k 2007 110 SW would be worth if in mint condition, but whatever that figure might be in simple terms you take off the cost or repairs/mods/new parts needed to get it back up to that condition and see if you come out on top, break even or lose money. If you save just a few hundred quid after your efforts, is it worth it? If you save a few grand, or looking at it another way, can invest some of the equivalent cash in some sexy upgrades (power, seating, soundproofing, wheels etc) so for the same total budget you get a better car or at least one that has been modded to your choice, why not? Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

Very tempted by it but not at the price advertised, as they're after £11,500+VAT so £13,800 all in.

A few years ago a friend bought a one owner immaculate 40,000 miles Disco 1.
It turned out to have done 40,000 1 mile journeys - it was sha66ed! But again if it was the right price, everything is replaceable / fixable, just like triggers broom. Keith. |
