RGS Overland Weekend 2011
The 2011 RGS Overland weekend is

Vehicle-Dependent Overland Travel a Workshop

Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 May 2011 from 9am
A two-day workshop where participants in vehicle dependant expeditions, including navigators, mechanics and medics, present talks and seminars on planning and preparation for overland trips.

Venue: Terrington Hall School, Terrington, York, YO60 6PR.

Tickets: £10 per vehicle (includes buffet lunches and free camping).

However I think the cost is £15/vehicle. Shock horror a 50% increase! Remember this is per vehicle not per person! So is great value for money Thumbs Up

If you are interested in Overland travelling I highly recommend this weekend.

If you are interested in going email Sam at watsonsam@talk21.com so he gets a reasonable idea about numbers for lunches

You might have got a special discount Uncle Ray.

It cost me a tad more then £10-15 Whistle

Things are just about sorted for the weekend. Have bought a bottle of beer or two. Thrown in the odd twig for the fire etc. Fuelled the vehicles up so we are almost ready to go.

Have been looking at some puncture repair kits. You will not believe the price variation for the exact same kit! Prices vary up to about £150

We are currently looking at some in the price range of about £40-50.

We do have a complete comprehensive kit including tyre levers, bead breakers and tyre repair (sticky string and rubber plugs) however that is £226. It is the kit I carry in our overland vehicle but gratefully have never really had to use it. (yet, fingers crossed)

Just got back from this years RGS meeting. Despite the weather it was a good weekend. Uncle Ray promptly paid his 'fine' Laughing Also met up with Jason and some other people we know.

Somehow I think the RGS weekend will become an 'established' event in the overland calendar.

A big thank you to Sam Watson for organising the weekend
