Personal choice. My truck is Santorini black and I have had the crossmember sprayed in Santorini, gloss and satin. In that order. Out of the three I think Santorini looked best but didn't last long. Buzzweld gloss or satin both hold up well.

I went for matt. Good undercoat, then a couple of layers of textured stonechip, finished off with a matt top coat - will see if I have a pic somewhere.
