We have had a polaris ranger from new in 2008.
It is without doubt the most unreliable vehicle we have ever owned (albeit petrol not diesel) In the 11 years and 2300 hours we have managed to use it for it has had: 6 starter motors 2 handbrake mechanisms 2 rear CVT clutch rebuilds 3 carburetors (before converting to LPG) 2 Rear diff lock mechanism rebuild 1 Steering column rebuild due to wear 3 batteries (upgraded to a bigger battery eventually) 2 seats 3 ignition switches 2 stater solenoids So as you can see, for something that is used on a campsite at low speed to basically tow a small trailer and empty the bins - it's not the best. I service it twice a year and it certainly doesn't get abused. I think now we have upgraded the battery and converted it to LPG it seems to be quite reliable but we haven't been impressed by the quality by any means  2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

We had a Polaris Ranger for a while but it was constantly having issues and costing a fortune to keep going. We swapped to a Kawasaki Mule 4010 Trans about 6 years ago and Touch wood it’s been amazing so far . Other than regular services the only extras have been rear UJs , a leaf spring and a hi-low cable . It’s used daily for an hour or two often carrying a full load in the back .
The downside is the performance, it’s slow compared to the ranger and the lack of engine braking gets a bit of getting used to ! https://www.instagram.com/hustynminepark/ |

We px'd our did so Polaris last year after 2 years from new.
£2.7k a year to service A set of tyres Several drive belts Rear prop, front diff twice Rear diff New dash New ignition Approx 50hrs a week run time. Now on a Can am since may 18. Kubota 900 rtv for me.
I bought mine second hand. Virtually bulletproof but not fast & gets used every day ; either loaded up or towing sometimes both Guy May your life be like toilet paper ; long & useful. |

Ive got a 2014 Ranger, its hauled tons and tons of rubbish, soil and kit. Including a loaded trailer. Its never ever missed a beat.

Thanks for the feedback, seems to be a mixed bag. All the reports I previously had was Polaris was the best and Kawasaki were problematic, will check a Polaris out at weekend.
