So after the traumatic sale of the 110 about 18months ago on condition of getting first refusal in future... I got it back last week.
Smile has become a fixed feature. So, things to do... a lot of TLC so a little advice please. Since it has been away a lot of salting/ oxidation has occurred so a lot of T cutting has that largely dealt with that. Underside all good so just a little topping up of protection there. Strange collection of "stone chips" on bulk head "fake flaps" Corrosion on rear 1/4 mid seam... ideas on correction please Give it a good service. Lots of corrosion to various blots - Not sure I want to go down the SS route due to reaction and also a little bling against the black. Where, other than the dealers do you get standard bolt sets, poss with security heads (galv) NAS step needs a blast and re powder coating. New wing mirror arms on order A few door seal need replacing, are they all the same otherwise recommendations please (saw these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Defe...tupt=true) Clear lenses yellowed, tried one of the restoring polishes... got bored very quickly so replacements it is. Toyed with LED previously but not keen on the "bauble" look (no offence). One rear seat would not fold up, disconnected cable at fault, sorted now. Continue with sound deadening. Front seat upgrade at some point. Just a few thoughts for now. Good to see you've got it back.
Is that a Maxxraxx mount fitted on the tow bar? Re the bolts, I would have thought any decent fixings supplier locally should be able to help you there, especially if your looking for something with a different to standard head. You'd be better taking them the originals as patterns though. Looks like a decent little project 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone 2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone 2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW |

Thanks for the comments so far.
Re. the bike rack, yes it is for the Maxxraxx. Fitted it under my previous ownership, even had an extra fixing loop welded onto roof rack when I was restoring that to secure the top strap, great bit of kit. |

My main concern is corrosion on the rear between tub and roof and weather these will need separating?
And also the strange vibration from underneath at 70mph, not that it does that speed often. Thinking wheel balancing then poss prop shaft. .. |

Mine has a similar issue on the fake vents. I’m thinking just to get the local paint shop to knock it back and a quick localised respray.

Def genuine door seals, yes they cost more but you will only end up spending twice if you get after market ones.

you could try some "fall out remover" on the bulkhead, it could remove the streaks and and iron deposits left on the paint, will allow you to see the actual damage to paint work then - it it is someone grinding near the car might even find a cut back with a heavy compound and a polish and you wont notice them. Might need a few goes with the fall out remover, keep going until it stops turning purple...... worst case it should remove the streaks for now.
