I always carry mine on the roof but a 33x12.50R15 is a hell of a weight to get up and down. I mostly carry it up there because I never have to use it!

A big wheel does have a pretty noticeable effect on handling at any speed, two spare wheels are into er gulp new underwear territory with lifted suspension. ---

Spare wheel on a swing away wheel carrier is best option. On long trips in red 110 spare on back, plus spare on bonnet, however that is not practical on a Puma.

If going on long trips then relatively young tyres with plenty of tread is helpful. Not enough room for two spares then an innertube can be used in a tubeless tyres. May not last too long but could be enough to get out of the mire. A good compressor plus a fixing kit and good to go.

I lugged mine up there one day with the same thoughts (wolf wheel). Quite a chore, and anyways I decided it was silly as my roof tent would hardly work on the door Rolling Eyes.

I do like the various mounts that keep it on the rear but off the door itself, and almost bought one, they are quite spendy though. Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...
