That depends on the age of the door/lock.
Earlier versions have a short barrel and there is a hole in the outer tube that houses the barrel. You poke something into the hole and depress the plunger allowing the barrel to slide out. Later locks use a longer barrel and, as a result, the plunger is much further into the tube. This means that the hole is actually inside the lock mechanism and you have to access it through the slot in the top of the mechanism where the central locking lever would/does come through. On this type you can remove the barrel without removing the lock mechanism although you still need to remove the door card. |
