I have found in the past that it all depends on the manufacturer, some will state the thickness of the plate less the tread pattern and others will include the tread pattern. I have found when ordering steel tread plate that you have to ask the question when ordering. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

When you order you ask for, as an example:
“3mm OP(On Plain) and 5mm OA(Over All)” That will give you a sheet that is 3mm thick with 2mm ‘teeth’. Hope that helps. Over the years I’ve probably bought in excess of 100tonnes in steel/stainless steel/aluminium and have always bought on that description from various stock holders |

Thanks for the info. I am embarrassed to ask because I used to be draughtsman and a metals buyer for a sheet metal company, but 15 years out of it, so some of the knowledge has gone. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS
