Doesn't look like it. I did spot a IIB and a 101 with an 80" on a trailer heading there this evening. 2011 110 USW 1973 Series III 1-Ton 1972 Series III 1-Ton Cherrypicker 1969 IIA 1-Ton 1966 IIA 88" |

About 2.5 tons, not as heavy as it looks to be honest! I think its a beauty, I'm not at all jealous of the guy who bought it.
You see a fair few utility spec landies about in keswick green. Today there was an accidental convoy of three of us, all keswick green 110s along the M4, first a station wagon, then a hardtop, then mine, must have looked very strange to any onlookers! No idea who the other two were, one took the junction up toward Lyneham I think, and the station wagon carried on but more quickly than I was going... 2011 110 USW 1973 Series III 1-Ton 1972 Series III 1-Ton Cherrypicker 1969 IIA 1-Ton 1966 IIA 88" |

Been hard at work again.
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Have to confess fuel economy with an FC on back is pretty appalling, not due to weight, just the huge air dam on the front. I am seriously thinking of some kind of air deflector like you see on lorry roofs, fitted to the back of the 110s roof for jobs like this, does such a thing exist? Lovely 110 it is, and it's also left me thinking the Puma Defender is a really nice motor.
For those interested, the 101 has had a full rebuild, pretty much new everything, and fully kitted out as a 10 seat bus for the new owner. A new hood from AWT, Craddocks wide rims and 315/75R16 cooper discoverers, full polybush kit, stainless exhaust (Inc manifolds) NAS Defender lights, plus a 3.9 efi V8 to make it go. A very tidy motor!! 1982 Wife 1984 300 Tdi 110 H/T 'Recovery' Plus 4 kids and a dog. Driving it for 8.5 - 9 hours a day can become bothersome, my legs seize up after a while as the clutch is so heavy and the throttle needs constant pressure. Cruise control, an auto gearbox and/or a lighter clutch would be nice. 2011 110 USW

How about a conversion to TDV6, ZF 4HP22 auto, and a lighter throttle pedal?

Yes, it is if I am honest, however this could only be realistically contemplated if i a) manage to get my business sucessfully up and running, or b) I win the lotto. As I don't play the lotto its gonna have to be a). 2011 110 USW 1973 Series III 1-Ton 1972 Series III 1-Ton Cherrypicker 1969 IIA 1-Ton 1966 IIA 88" |

Well today I had a minor "incident" and smashed my rear fog light. I was only 2 mins from a Landrover dealer at the time so nipped in to get a new lens. Oh no, sorry, we don't do that, you have to buy the complete unit. 22 quid later I have a new lens on, and a load of spare bits I don't really need. Cheers Landrover parts, you made my day...pfft. 2011 110 USW

When I was at Alive Tuning a couple of months back, Gary/Ben let me try the prototype clutch servo mod that they'd put on their show Td5. Details here.... http://www.td5alive.com/new_products.php It was ferking unbelievable... I nearly put the pedal through the floor it was that light. What I don't know I'm afraid is if it's a general Defender mod or was specific to the Td5. Equally, I don't know what the price will be as the guys were still developing it at the time. The web link above doesn't make either of these bits clear. Might be worth giving Gary a shout Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless. |

I'm not in a desperate rush to be honest, its still early days for my business and i can't even consider modding the truck until things settle, but its nice to know its not just me! 2011 110 USW 1973 Series III 1-Ton 1972 Series III 1-Ton Cherrypicker 1969 IIA 1-Ton 1966 IIA 88" |
