I have enquired with the bodyshop as to their willingness to rectify, I think we can imagine what the answer will be...

Nothing is visible from the outside I just don't want it to corrode. 2011 110 USW

The body shop should rectify this without a problem as its their refitting incorrectly that has caused the problem. Realign door and repaint and capping repaint. Ray

If this had been spotted days or even a few weeks after the work was done I would agree with you and be confident that that would be the outcome - as it stands I fear the length of time that has passed will work against me, as I can't exactly prove nobody else has had a go at work on the back end. Shame you are not closer I could sort it out for you as I know your are not keen on the old spanners. Are any of the Series guys near you to just adjust your door, or are you going to any meets perhaps.

The firm that did it originally may take it back, it,s only a 30 min job for them to re adjust the door and touch up Thumbs Up

I have no objection to "the old spannering" at all, I am more concerned about the paintwork as that would have to be right first time. That being said I don't have the required allen-key type tools for the bolts etc on the Defender. 2011 110 USW

"Touch up" as in the procedure previously mentioned. I would do it myself to make sure it is done properly!

Which body shop are you using if I may ask?

I am still getting the run around about the damage to my paintwork and would like a second opinion.

Well that didn't go according to plan. Bodyshop came and picked up the 110, all fine. Had a call yesterday basically with them now saying the issue is nothing to do with them. Supposedly it is manufacturing defect with the rear tub, but as the vehicle is out of warranty, try LR Customer Services and see if they will sort. Well obviously they are very unlikely to do so. I did suggest it could just be misalignment when the roof, sides and door were re-assembled but apparently that cannot be the case...having rebuilt a few series vehicles myself I know how much of a sod they can be to get right. Seem to me they just don't want to help, so either way I'm now stuck with a motor that has an obvious problem. I've told the bodyshop to return the vehicle to me for now, seems a bit pointless having it sat at their place.

"Just touching it up" would solve nothing as the problem would recur without re-aligning the rear bodywork and door. 2011 110 USW
