Just seen your signature Steve.
The irony of writing 'Long live Great Britain' in latin is truly magnificent. |

I agree with Google Translate that it is a long country. Well, the distance north to south I mean.

I haven't forgiven them for killing Bodacia and not building Hadrains wall high enough.
And at least the French had the decency to get rid of the aristocratic classes, if we and the Germans had done the same we wouldn't be saddled with 5th generation Germans - Don't mention the war Basil! |

Rees Mog and Boris have repeatedly said it would be “traitorous” to vote for May’s deal and “unacceptable under circumstances” as it would make Britain a “vasal state” and “slave state”.
Then they get the faintest sniff of being PM and they flip-flop and vote for May’s deal. Soft Brexit now looks nailed on. All thanks to the ERG. It does make you wonder what made these Brexiteers do a complete U turn. Why after winning the referendum and holding all the cards would they "Betray the will of the people"? Was it always about personal ambition and self promotion for them? Or perhaps when realising the actual effects of crashing out with no deal they finally grew a conscience? |

Rees Mogg and Johnson have a conscience?
If we have an election, which of the self serving, lying. two faced, smug overblown car park attendants will you vote for? Its like giving a condemned family the choice of firing squad or lethal injection! You can probably tell my feeling of a vast majority (but not all) of MP's. Keith |

How about if we have an election, no-one who has been, or has previously stood to be, an MP will be allowed to stand. That should give us a decent choice.

Ickle, you're of course right. Guess I was just being charitable.
The question remains though. Why on the day we were scheduled to leave the EU have Rees Mug, Boris and the ERG done a complete 180° and backed a soft Brexit? A soft Brexit ensures that we will only be a couple of pieces of Government legislation away from joining the EU again in all but name. They had everything in their favour including the people's mandate, the press, effective control of the Prime Minister and the government. Then under no pressure whatsoever have chosen to turncoat and throw it all away. This astonishing capitulation of the cult of Brexit cannot be understated. It's like the Pope turning his back on the Vatican to join a pilgrimage to Mecca... ...and then strapping on a suicide vest. Last edited by Zed on 30th Mar 2019 10:50am. Edited 3 times in total |
