Later Style Snorkel / Raised Air Intake for Pumas (I think)
Hi all,

Even though I have a Td5 I really like the look of the snorkels / RAIs for later Pumas and see that both Land Rover and Mantec both do a very similar one? From what I can tell the main difference is the shape of it at the base where it attaches to the wing.

Are there any preferences or advantages to one over the other?

Just cosmetic. Mantec who made them for LR also changed the top section in design a few times. Some have small metal grill on rear, some don’t, and then they made the hat section smaller and uglier.

I noticed that some had the grill at the rear as well, is that the LR version Andy?

Mantec version fitted to my 2.4 (admittedly bought a couple of years ago, so I’m not sure if the design has changed ). But it has the metal grilled to the lower rear part of the top section:

LR or Mantec ones can both have, or not, the grill on the rear of the top hat. It’s all very Defender, anything could be anywhere.
