The common wiring being from Link 5 of the battery junction box all the way through to the central junction box. Out of curiosity and only if you have it to hand, any idea what else comes through link 5? |

link 5 feeds ignition switch will the engine start ?

Engine fired fine and everything else seemed to be fine. I'll check for voltage at the fuse and work back from there

When you turn the key, do they turn on in some positions? Sounds like you need a new ignition switch. I've experienced this a few times and the ignition switch was always the culprit. I hope this helps.

Having looked at replacing the ignition switch, I'm curious whether it's possible to replace the switch with the barrel still in situ? Most forum posts I've seen have removed the entire barrel (and therefore shear bolts) first then swapped the switch over. I didn't no if it's possible to just remove the switch.

Two small screw 2mm used to hold ignition switch in too the locking part you can remove them (but)

Haha, ok I've purchased the switch and replacement shear bolts. I'll attempt it in place but remove if needed...

I tried it on my soft top without removing the lock etc and could not access the bottom tiny screw whatsoever.

I was lucky, mine was not fitted with shear bolts (sorry)

Has anyone done this on a puma specifically? The workshop manual says nothing about removing the barrel and mentions removing a 'single screw from the ignition switch' as opposed to the 2 dorsetsmith mentioned.
