Thanks guys.
Someone drove in to me so it's on the insurance,
Panel was £1,008 you have to have the inner arch also else you would lose the spot welds, but I paint Land rovers for a living so able to do it through work.

Insurance wrote my Td5 off for that panel and rear crossmember Crying or Very sad

I bought the genuine full rear quarter for the spot weld reason, I only paid £250 delivered for a brand new piece though off the bay of E Rolling with laughter

I’ve noticed the Bearmach rear capping have too many rivet holes in, I suppose that now makes me a Land Rover rivet counter Embarassed

Pics of my write off damage now bought back and temporarily repaired.

The outer quarter is spot welded to the inner arch in the factory, they are all the round indentations visible down the side of the quarter. These are not possible to recreate. If you buy just the outer skin it would have to be bonded on or riveted, so wouldn't have an original appearance.

Just use a punch to simulate the spot welds if you’re that desperate to have them.

Totally agree so I’ll reiterate that’s why I bought the complete genuine full quarter complete with inner arch.

I personally couldn’t live with one side spot welded and one side not, I just hit on lucky and bought a brand new genuine part that I needed cheaper than travelling to buy a secondhand full tub. Formerly mao99999

My old boss used a Bic Pen top to replicate rivet heads in a repaired (filled) panel on his plane so that it would pass FAA inspection (CAA wouldn't pass it). Its still flying around like that now after nearly 20 years.
