I would take it off the car and connect it directly to a good 12v supply. If it still doesn’t work I’d be calling it deceased I think. I might be tempted to do an autopsy to see if water has got in or if there is an obvious broken connection or something, but can’t imagine there is much user serviceable stuff inside. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Might be worth a phone call to Mobilecentre. They may have the original JWSpeakers in stock 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Probably bad solder joint - repairable, or bad bonding in the LED itself - only way is to replace the bad LED. You have to open the light and find the problem "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo

Earthing problem would be my guess.
Was supplied with a set of LHD units when ordered RHD, flickered like (as the wiring is opposite). Returned them back, got RHD units and problem gone. So would guess an earth TY&GN 10 years in a WOLF, WIMIK and Snatch and this is all I have to show! |

Don't the JW Speaker LED headlights come with a "lifetime" warranty?
I seem to recall this as being one of the things that was pushing me towards them when I was in the market but after a prolonged period of indecision I eventually went for the Nolden's (with only a 2-year warranty I believe). ONE LIFE, GET IT! |

Thanks for the replies everyone I popped in a sealed beam for the weekend and that worked perfectly, whilst it was all apart I also tested a cheapo LED headlight and no flickering or intermittent light. Plugging the JW back in and it flickers sometimes but is mostly off so pretty sure it's an internal fault. I had a multimeter on the wiring loom in the wing and nothing seems amiss there either.
I gave Mobilecentre a call as suggested and they have been really helpful. Unfortunately no chance of a warranty claim, I wasn't the original purchaser as they came fitted to the vehicle when I bought it, likewise the headlights date from 2011 according to the stickers on the back so they pre-date Evo 1 versions which were first produced in 2012. For info, Evo 1 and onwards do have a 5 year or (possibly lifetime warranty but I forgot) on them according to Mobilecentre. Mobilecentre are having a look through their old stores/ ex display units to see if they have a single matching unit I can buy, if not then it will be a case of replacing the pair. 2005 Td5 110 Hardtop 1989 300Tdi 90 Soft top 1992 200Tdi 90 Truck cab with Land Cruiser axles |

Get the EVO2 dual burn. You won't be disappointed
I might add that I have had all the different evolutions of JWSpeakers. Each evolution is better than the last 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

Very tempting Grafty, they are chuffing expensive though. Just waiting to see if Mobilecentre can find one of my current type, if not then I'll probably go for set of the dual burn Evo 2s 2005 Td5 110 Hardtop

EVO2 Dual Burn. Do they also have a version without that DRL halo, i.e. without that top half circle spiralling LED?

Thanks. This reminds me of the below which I had forgotten about, and which make Mobilecentre look expensive. Have to give this heated dual burn version from Nakatanenga another thought. Guess they can be connected up without activating the DRL function, so only low/high beam plus position light. Have to check with Peter about that, as they are pretty tempting.
One important question I have is when looking in detail at the picture of these lamps on the Nakatanenga website, I see some pretty irrelevant info about wattage consumption on the lense, but I see none of the information legally required about the ECE approval code or about the various lighting functions this lamp is approved for. Strange. Eric https://www.nakatanenga.de/en/lighting/mai...burn?c=462 Click image to enlarge You never actually own a Defender.
