Off the top of my head not sure on price but I think it was less than or equal to some polybush kits, but the list of bushes is as follows;
Front radius arms 2 x bushes per arm at axle (4 total) (24mm) 2 x chassis end bushes per arm (4 total) 2 x bolts + 2 x nuts for axle end bushes 2 x nuts for chassis end (30mm) 2 x panhard rod bushes 2 x panhard rod bolts + 2 x nuts Rear arms 2 x axle end bushes + 2 x bolts + 2 x nuts (24mm nuts) 2 x chassis end nuts (30mm nuts) 4 x chassis end bushes (bought elsewhere) 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

Looking at this subject at the moment too.
Did you fit the new genuine LR ones yourself? Did you have a press or a vice and big hammer? I'm only considering polybushes as I hear they are easier to home fit than genuine, but if genuine is do-able at home they'd be a better bet. I got myself a 2nd hand 10t press which did the job. Yes you can use hack saws to cut out the old bushes which I did consider before getting the press and I did at one point start cutting into the metal sleeve of the bush to try and get it out until I found a suitable form to go into the hole in the arm to press the bush out. (I think it was a 1" socket) I suspect with a big vice on a decent bench you can insert new ones.
route I considered was to get a spare set of arms and fit bushes to these and swap over. I only did this with the rear arms as I got a set for a good price. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |
