The new Indian engine plant, tipped to be located near Pune where Tata’s has existing facilities, and where JLR recently announced a Land Rover assembly operation, will make engines for four-cylinder models. The engines will be modular in design and up to 2.0 litres in capacity, the sources say.

JLR are working on an English Engine Plant - It might pay you to look on the proper news sites...good luck to them

i did find this for you in the public domain:

And with three-quarters of all sales outside the UK, it's also benefiting from the relative weakness of sterling.

Now, far from closing a factory, JLR is thought to be considering building a new engine plant here.

Good on them Mike

My concern was that this is a "mirror of the UK site" and the engines are "up to 2.0" so the site, UK or otherwise is irrelevant. I love LRs and if anything helps the company then good on it - they can build 2wd Frelanders and the like all day if the core product remains, well, core product.

I have had LRs for years and they get more unreliable as time goes by (in my experience) but I am still not able to bring myself to spend my cash anywhere else.

I say 'good on em' too - they are a great British company employing lots of Brits and bringing money to our economy I just hope they don't expect 2.0 to power the Defender.
