Wiper park switch - FIXED!
The wipers on my Puma decided to stop parking in the correct place a couple of months back, and despite swapping the park switch, they still didn't park at the bottom of the cycle..
I pulled the switch apart, and the springy contact has a stress crack right across the weld point.. And as a consequence, the switch doesn't return to the correct terminal..

Deciding to try and save £14 for yet another switch, this will be number three, I have repaired the duff original..
It's simple to do.. The hard part is getting the switch body apart.. But it comes apart with careful application of a scalpel along the join line..

I soldered on a small piece of thin brass shim to act as a brace for the contact arm, and after a bit of filing to remove excess solder, and a minor fettle to get the contact arm in the right place, it went back together with no problems..

I've attached a couple of images to show what I've done..

Top repair!

A friend of mine has a PCB/desktop vice just like that, but can't remember where he got it. You wouldn't happen to have a link?

The tricky bit is getting the new switch (or repaired one) back on, the clip will come off and you will lose it.
Solution = before you even try, cut a small piece of wood just big enough to jam into the recess in the switch above the clip making sure it is sub flush, then the clip can't move and the switch will go on first attempt.
