2007 Defender 90 Other CSW Trident Green

A few more pics showing the layout nearly finished. Still, quite a long way to go yet need to fix more scenery, figures and yard paraphernalia such as crates pit props etc. And cables for the lift head wheels.

Epic scenery and buildings, I was more into loop type model railways, so I could leave them run. I think I had eight engines going at once. I'll try and find the pictures as it's been took up for space

We have just inherited this but don't have any nice long trains for it with carriages, just a small one with coal wagons etc.

That looks VERY VERY impressive indeed,....well done.
However, it wouldn't "survive" in a similar Aussie roof space, in the summer, it would simply "melt", as would the operator!

Never had a model railway but love looking at them ,piston heads has a nice model section which you can while away a hour or two.

I used it to help my youngest daughter, who has special needs, to develop her hand to eye coordination.
If she raised a cup to her mouth it sometimes went elsewhere.
She used to come up to my trains. I showed her how to use the transformer to move the locomotive. I used to ask her to move the locomotive to the buffer stop. She found this hard to do and usually crashed to loco into the buffer stop. The problem was because she had to keep looking from the loco to the controller in order to use it. To cut a long story short one day she managed it. She could watch the loco WITHOUT having to watch what she was doing with her hand on the controller. It sounds innocuous enough but it was a big breakthrough.
This was one step in working to develop things that other parents take for granted. Simple things like walking in a straight line, her balance, even her eye muscles. All these were tackled in the same way with just time and patience.
The one she did not like was getting the fluid in her inner ear to swish one way for a minute then settle, then swish the other way for a minute. This was done to aid her balance by getting the fluid to move over the tiny hairs in the inner ear. When she was born she was premature and very small. I had to put a tube down her throat to feed her. Would n't fancy doing it now but at the time it seemed natural enough.
Anyway she is 23 now, still comes up to the trains and still remembers "her" locomotive 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

The second part of James may Big Trouble in Model Britain tonight (Wednesday 13/03) on BBC4 in which we are promised a fight between one of Hornby's team against either Hatton's or Bachman at a railway show. And who said Modeling was boring.

Some dick head at Hornby a few years ago scraped nine and a half thousand tooling dies worth circa 60 grand each you just have to love the sense of some people exhibit. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..
