United Kingdom 2013 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 XS CSW Santorini Black
[SOLD] 2012 110 XS S/Wagon 20,500 miles. SOLD
NOW SOLD.

Edited to reduce price as I think my initial asking price was a little high looking at Autotrader etc.

After much soul searching I have decided to sell my Defender.

It's a really tidy 7 seat 110 XS Safari Station Wagon with all the usual XS bells & whistles.

Santorini Black metallic paint.
20,500 miles with history and past MOTs. Next MOT due end June 2019.
Full JLR service history to end of year 3, then meticulously serviced by myself since, with records.
Dinitrolled underneath and cavities at 2 1/2 years old, with chassis topped up last year.
Part leather trim with heated front seats.
Heated screen.
Aircon.
Alpine Bluetooth CD/Radio.
Central locking.
Electric front windows.
Full factory fitted carpets. I think these became an option later in 2012/13.

It has the following extras :

BAS 150 remote remap with tool. (I believe ownership can be transferred for £30)
Superwinch Talon 9.5 with D44 Dynapull 9mm synthetic rope and competion hook.(Used once to recover my MX5 from the snow!)
5 Genuine Wolf rims with BFG MT2 all terrain tyres. As new, having covered less than 500 miles. All with locking wheel nuts.
Dixon Bate adjustable slider tow bar with combined ball/pintle. 7 pin electrics.
Full set of 7 seat covers.
Full set of genuine Land Rover rubber mats.
Rear 12v cigar socket outlet.
Nakatanenga Heritage style grille.
Black headlamp surrounds.
VW variable intermittent front wipe relay
Genuine full height dog guard with hinged lower flap. (Never transported any dogs!).
Military style tubular steering guard.

I have all the original take off parts from the upgrades which will be supplied with the vehicle, so it could easily be put back to factory specification if needed.

Front bumper with end caps.
Brunell grille and headlamp surrounds.
Set of 5 silver boost alloys with Conti tyres and locking wheel nuts. In excellent condition with loads of tread left.
The 150 remap can also be set back to standard using the BAS tool.

Last year it had the windscreen surround, windscreen blocks and lower grille replaced. And repairs to the areas around the alpine roof windows. All done through the JLR warranty by a JLR approved body shop.

There are a number of covert and overt security enhancements that I will take any new owner through.

I'm looking for £28k, given the mileage, condition and useful extras that I have added.

On Autotrader and Ebay now at reduced price, but will let go at £29k with all the extras to a fellow forum member if anyone is interested.

No enquiries from Autotrader, eBay or here Sad
Do you think I have priced it too high? Or is it just a bad time for selling?
It looks good value compared to other low mileage XS's that are for sale, but I guess they aren't selling either.

Would it be better to put it back to standard specification and sell the winch, wolf's, grille separately?
Or sit tight and wait?

To be honest I think it would be best to put back to standard spec for selling. 2016 Defender Landmark 90

Big problem is not the price but finding someone with £29k sitting in the bank.
Most big car purchases are on finance
When I sold the last 3 I did to trade at a good price for a speedy no hassle transaction.

I'll be blunt, it's way too high! I sold a 61 reg very similar last year for £13500 and have just bought a standard xs 110 on a 14 reg in black for £18000

Put it on eBay no reserve and you'll find out what it's worth.

You've priced it the same as comparable models from dealers: https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R4...mp;_sop=16

This one is cheaper from a dealer, also price reduced and with similar mileage https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2012-Land-Rover...3298136153

You can't offer what a dealer/trade can (warranty, finance, etc.) so yours looks a worse deal. Also your ebay ad doesn't have high-res images.

You may get a buyer, but it's how long you want to wait in a marketplace of sellers that do it as a day job. Hope that helps.

As above, you can't expect to get what a dealer can ask.

Whenever I've sold on Autotrader or Ebay I've priced midway between trade and retail along with a clear detailed description backed up by as many pictures of the interior and exterior as I can.

I've always managed to sell reasonably easily. 2015 Defender 90XS HT

The closest thing that has sold privately recently on ebay was a 2011 with 54k miles. It was advertised at £21500.

I'd be taking the winch / bumper off and putting the original alloys back on, wolfs are great but to the untrained eye look like old steel wheels....

All good points. Thanks.
I think I'll drop the price and see if that generates any more interest.
If not, I'll then strip all the extras off and advertise as a standard vehicle and look to sell all the items that I removed separately.

As others say I would definitely return it to base spec . I sold one 18 months ago , when the winch and steels were fitted I didn’t have a single bite . Popped the boosts back on , took the winch off and boom , sold for the asking price . 2007 110xs 100,000 miles , sold for 16k. Yours is clearly worth more ! https://www.instagram.com/hustynminepark/

I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy

I fully agree with the last comment and i'm sure you would soon sell them or part ex on this site I personally took the winch and bumper off mine along with the roof rack as i don't now really do off roading and i didn't want the very noisy roof rack nice as itall looked and i was consered as how much extra fuel it would use considering the weight and adding to the already bad areo dynamics but i know someone out there will love it as it is if you persivere someone will have it
